Research Report an Impact Study on the Kampung Angkat Madani Project Ministry of Youth & Sports Malaysia 2024 @ Kampung Long Latei
This book is the outcome of an Impact Study on the Kampung Angkat MADANI Project, implemented in Kampung Long Latei, Ulu Baram, Sarawak, Involving the Penan community under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia. The study evaluates the effectiveness of the programme in enhancing community well-being across economic, social, infrastructural, and psychological dimensions. Employing both quantitative and qualitative approaches, the findings indicate that the programme has produced moderate positive impacts on the community, including increased social interaction, additional income generation through handicrafts and homestay activities, as well as improvements in basic infrastructure such as water supply and solar lighting. However, persistent challenges such as low income levels, limited public facilities, and the absence of a proper waste disposal system require continuous attention. This book underscores the importance of community participation, volunteerism, and integrated approaches in promoting inclusive and sustainable rural community development, in line with the principles of the Malaysia MADANI framework.
