The TESL Primer

This book highlights the pertinent ideas, issues, and insights into the teaching and learning of English as a Second Language (ESL), particularly in the context of Malaysian ESL education. It is intended to be a guide for pre-service and in-service teachers into the various aspects of teaching and learning English as a Second Language. The aspects discussed are notably on the more salient theories, concepts, practices, and issues in the teaching and learning of English as a Second Language and include topics such as applied linguistics, grammar instruction, English literature, English language teaching materials, literacy education, writing instruction, and digital technology in English language education.
